Care & Maintenance
Setup
Unfold on a flat, level surface that can take 200–300 kg of water weight. Indoors: bathroom or garage works best (drainage). Outdoors: sheltered spot, on decking or grass. Avoid direct sunlight in summer — it’ll heat the water faster than you can chill it.
Filling
Fill with cold tap water to the indicated line (roughly 80% capacity, leaves room for displacement when you get in). In winter, tap water alone will be 6–12°C. In summer, add 2–3 bags of supermarket ice 30 minutes before plunging.
Daily use
- Replace the cover when not in use — keeps debris out and water cold
- Wipe condensation off the inside of the cover before folding
- If using outdoors in winter, drain it or add a small aquarium heater (15W) to prevent the lining cracking in a freeze
Water changes
Empty after every 3–5 sessions, or weekly — whichever comes first. To extend water life to ~2 weeks, add 1 capful of unscented household chlorine bleach per 100L when you fill. Don’t use pool chemicals — they’re too aggressive for PVC.
Cleaning
Drain. Wipe down inside and out with a soft cloth and mild detergent (washing-up liquid is fine). Rinse with cold water. Dry fully before folding — trapped moisture is what kills these tubs early.
Storage
Once dry, fold along the printed crease lines and store in the carry bag. Keep out of direct sunlight in storage too — UV degrades PVC over months.
What kills it early
- Pool chlorine or bromine tablets
- Hot water (above 40°C)
- Sharp objects in the tub (metal jewellery, watch buckles)
- Folding while wet
- Leaving it out in a freeze without a heater
